Should I See a dietitian?

How It Works

People see a dietitian for lots of different reasons. Generally, once an appointment is made, you can expect to fill out intake paperwork in preparation for your appointment. At your appointment, your dietitian will dive into your relationship with food, your goals, your food preferences and lifestyle to customize a plan that works for you. See below for more examples of how a dietitian can help!

About the Dietitian

Born and raised in New Mexico, I grew up north of Santa Fe in Las Vegas, NM. I moved to Albuquerque in 2007 to attend the University of New Mexico and I’ve been here ever since. I have a BA in Journalism and a BS in Nutrition, both from the University of New Mexico. Before becoming a dietitian I worked in Food and Nutrition Services at the Raymond G. Murphy Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and at First Nations Community HealthSource, for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). In 2017, I completed my dietetic internship at UNM and earned my RD credential. As a dietitian, I worked at the University of New Mexico Hospitals for about five years. In that time, I worked on the inpatient medical and behavioral health adult units, along with the pediatric behavioral health units. At UNMH I worked with patients on everything — from basic nutrition education to complex total parenteral nutrition. After transitioning to private practice in 2022, I was lucky enough to have tons of opportunities to grow both my business and my family. I became a mom in 2022, and again in 2025. Those experiences, along with seeing the needs of the majority of my private practice clients encouraged me to transition to working only with women. I love nutrition and I’m passionate about optimizing the health of my fellow New Mexico women through food. I can’t wait to work with you!
